The CrashDetech algorithm has been developed to detect a "Serious Car Crash". A Serious Car Crash is classified as follows:
- The car has come to a complete standstill immediately post impact and is impaired eg no longer drivable.
- The driver and/or occupants sustained serious bodily injuries resulting in incapacity, preventing them from contacting help eg Emergency Medical and/or other Assistance Services themselves.
Should you be involved in a smaller car crash and would like to request Emergency Medical Services, please make use of our Medical Emergency Button.
- The CrashDetech app has to be running and Trip Monitoring active during the time of the crash in order for a Serious Car Crash to be detected. Please refer to our Trip Monitoring Best Practices and Crash Detection Best Practices for more information.
- Please take note of the following crash detection limitations: Crash Detection Limitations.
